graphic design final reflection blog One of my favorite parts about graphic design was making the vector illustrator portrait. For this project we had to choose an image of ourselves, a family member, or a family pet. We then had to choose if we wanted to do an organic vector which is tracing the facial features on the objects face or a low poly geometric vector which is when you make lots of different and tiny triable on the subject. I chose to do the low poly geometric because I felt it would look better on my dog. It took me around two weeks to complete this project. I was gone towards the end of the first week, if I wasn't gone I most likely would have finished the project sooner. I faced a few challenges along the way. At the very beginning of the project I didn't know how big to make the triangles. I decided to do small triangles on my dogs features and bigger triangles on my dogs body. movie trailer blog post   the project process When we were assigned this project we were asked to pick a high school movie trailer and make one recreating it. My group and I decided to re create the breakfast club movie trailer. We thought it would be fairly easy because most of the video takes place in a school library and the rest in the school hallways. We had to plan out filming and planning days for the project which is something my group and I didn't do well on. The next step was to story board, we had to go through the whole movie trailer and describe and sketch out each frame. When it was finally time to film it was very close to spring break, we had two days of school left and we planned to film all of our footage in those days. Unfortunately we didn't get much done those days, the footage we did get had actors that dropped out so we couldn't't use any of it. vector illustrated portrait pre-production When we were assigned this project we were asked to take a picture of ourselves, siblings, or a pet and turn it into a vector portrait. I chose to use a picture of my dog because in that certain picture he had just came back from getting a hair cut and they put a cute bow tie on him. The sun was also shining through the window which made his fur have a variety of colors.We had a choice between an organic vector project and a low poly geometric portraits. I chose to do the low poly geometric portrait, which is when you make tiny triangles on the picture and then fill them will color. Music video blog  When we were assigned this project we were told to pick a song and make a video rein-acting  the original music video. The first step of this project was to pick a group. With working in a group comes teamwork and agreeing on things like the song, dates we were going to film, and assigning jobs in the group. My group originally was going to use the song "Tonge tied" by group love. We decided that we were going to change our song because the music video was in an older house and had a party going on. One of my groups biggest struggles was finding times to film so we decided that we wanted to film our video at school. We finally decided on the song "Congratulations" by post Malone because it took place in a filming studio just like the one we have here at school. Typography   Pre-Production Finding quotes for this project was fairly easy. I have the Pinterest app and look at quotes daily. I was very excited when I found out we were doing this project because I love quotes. The hardest part was only being able to pick four quotes because I like too many. I spent around two days looking on Pinterest and safari narrowing down which quotes to use. The next step was to choose fonts for all of the quotes, I went on da font.com to find them. I wanted simple fonts for most of my quotes and fancier more complex fonts for the more important words in the quote. Production Working on illustrator was easier now that we have done many projects on and it is later in the year. The only tricky part about putting the quotes together on illustrator was figuring out where to put the certain words in the quote. Self performance review Project 1 For one of my projects we were assigned to take ten pictures and then put then together to create a panorama. I chose to use pictures that I took of New York over spring break. The project took around a week to complete. I faced a few challenges with my design. It was hard to find somewhere to start because I had a lot goin on in my pictures. I found that the pictures I chose had a lot of buildings so I had to include some other pictures I took from the vacation so I would have a variety of pictures in my panorama. Doing this project I learned a lot about photoshop. With putting multiple pictures together you have to make sure they blend. I started to use the blend tool as I put certain pictures together. Sometimes the blend tool wouldn't work so I would use the clone stamp tool to take parts of a picture and put it on the picture next to it. final reflection The first semester of video productions was very enjoyable. We learned how to put clips together using premiere last year but this semester we learned lots of new things about premiere. We learned how to make different clips flow together and not look choppy. My favorite part was learning how to film and edit an interview. We learned techniques about setting up the interview, where and where not to film an interview, and where the audio levels need to be. We learned how to make a lower third and film voice overs. At the very end we got to put everything we had learned and film a sophomore edition of onw now, which is why I wanted to join e comm in the first place.  This semester we learned lots of new things. water color transfer prints the process   When we were assigned this project we were asked to use one of our previous projects and print it out. Then we were asked to water color a piece of paper that we would later put our project on. When those steps were both complete we had to mod podge the picture design side down so that the pictures ink would print on the water color. Then we had to use a squeegee and get all of the extra mod podge and air bubbles out from the picture. We had to wait for the mod podge to dry before we scratched the paper off. Two days later we used water to scratch the paper off of the water color. feature story the project process  When we were assigned this project we were asked to do a feature story on someone in our class. First we sat down and asked our partner a bunch of general questions such as hobbies, favorite food, and favorite color. After taking notes on basic questions we had to find one topic to focus on. While finding a topic we had to keep in mind that we would be needing lots of b roll and natural sound for the interview. I ending up choosing band as my partners topic. I thought it would be great since dance team performs with the band so I was familiar with the topic. printing processes relief printing relief printing is a process where the surface faces of the paint block are inked; empty areas are ink free. Printing the image is a simple task in inking the face of the matrix, making a firm contrast with the paper.   1.) Prep your block, you can tone it using Indian wash or jet black film ink. 2.) Place carbon paper transfer on tip of the toned block. 3.) Once the paper is transferred, you have the choice of what kind of composition you want to have which will have a impact on what tool you decide to press with. 4.) personal narrative/panorama project For this project I used New York City as my theme. My parents surprised my sister and I with a trip to New York over spring break. Our hotel was right in the middle of Times Square so we were always entertained.  We were only there for four ways but they were jam packed with fun things to do. Our flight landed around 7pm New York time, but instead of having dinner we went straight to dessert. The next day we walked around and just admired the city, we stopped into a lot of the stores! I had such a fun time looking through all of the stores. They have a lot of the same stores that we have nearby but the stores in New York are so much bigger. pop art project starting the project When I started this project I was very excited. I love looking because it is so unique and different than other pictures. I had ideas from other pictures I had seen in the past but I wanted to make it different. We had requirements for this project like using a variety of colors, adding a filter, using blending modes, and adding adjustment and layer masks. Nature man project  ideas As soon as the project was assigned to us I wanted to use water and thing of nature. I couldn't figure out how to make the water part look good. So I ended up just using the pictures that were in the server. The pictures were of trees and outdoor things so it was still close to my original idea. I didn't want the pictures to look exactly like they did in the server so I tried to change them up a bit. I added few effects and layers to make the pictures look more original.  the process   When I was doing this project I was thinking that I wanted my project to look subtle and not as bright. I really wanted the pictures to blend and not have a huge contrast between the pictures.                                   Photo editing in photoshop what I learned  I learned a lot while doing this project. Group project For this project the teachers assigned us in small groups, in those groups we were to create a product that doesn't exist or improve a product that does exist. The teachers also told us that after we create everything for our project we were going to present our product like people do on the show shark tank. Going into this project me and my group knew that we were going to have to make this product and everything that came along with it very professional and something that everyone could use. Me and my group finally decide that we were going to create the flare coffee cup. Flare is a heated coffee cup with adjustable temperature that will keep your drink warm all day long. After taking the Meyers-Briggs test it said my personality type was ENTJ. I am 9% extravert, 16% intuitive,1% thinking, and 16% judging. The test also said I take control of the situation and if there is a problem I try and fix it. I try to find new solutions instead of using other solutions I've used in the past or things other people have done. I like to plan out everything I do and set goals for myself while helping others set theirs, I also tend to share my knowledge. In this project we learned even more about using the six shots while filming. This video could be longer than the video we filmed for the creating a document, so we had a lot more time. Since we had more time we had to switch our angle of the shot more often. Because if you watched a video and all the shots were taken at the same angle it would be boring. In this project we had our character going all over the place where in the other one our character was only in the library. So we had more action in this video which was much more fun to film! When me and my other three partners were brainstorming and sketching for this project we had so many ideas that it was hard to narrow it down to one big idea! The first and biggest thing we had to figure out was where our characters would end up. For this assignment we had to make a video about how to create and print a document in thirty seconds. We had two parts to this project. Part A was making a story board including sketches of where the scene would take place and what kind of shot we would be filming in. After we got that approved we took the I pad and took pictures using the main points that we had down on our storyboard. After those pictures were taken we made a google slides showing the pictures we took. We also had to list what type of shot it was and what the actor was doing in the shot. Part B was actually making the video.We used every spot that we had pictures of on our story board and google docs except made those shots into a video. So we had to show more of the transitioning which was mostly walking inbetween our shots. After filming day we uploaded our videos to the computers. The Project This past week in e-Comm we had to make our own website. We used the program dreamweaver while doing this project. To get through the project we watched videos on google classroom that mr. Olsen had made. For our website we had a home page, a project page, and we had to include a side bar with links to the school, e-Comm, and our blog page. For the home page we made an elevator pitch , which is basically just talking about our best qualities. For our project t page we had to put some of our projects we have done in e-Comm so far. I chose two projects from graphic design and another two from animation. We also had to include the blog posts that went along with these four projects.  What I learned I learned a lot while doing this project. We learned how to use a new program dreamweaver, all of the different tools and their functions.
