pop art project

pop art project

starting the project

When I started this project I was very excited. I love looking because it is so unique and different than other pictures. I had ideas from other pictures I had seen in the past but I wanted to make it different. We had requirements for this project like using a variety of colors, adding a filter, using blending modes, and adding adjustment and layer masks. I knew I had to meet the requirements but I wanted to add more.

color scheme

For my color scheme I wanted to add as many colors as possible. At first I thought it looked too busy and I just used one color but different shades to make it look ombre. But then after doing two separate color schemes I decided that I liked the multi-color option because pop art is always colorful and I wanted to go outside of the box for this project.

artists that inspired me

When I started this project I didn't know must about pop art and artists that created it. After the project presentation I had a better understanding and found an artist that I really enjoyed. I thought that Andy Warhol was a really great artist. I loved how he used bright colors in all of his projects. He also made the person or focus in the picture look abstract with a filter that made it look blurry. I tried to loosely base my project off of his work.

techniques

For this project I used a lot of tools in photoshop. I used a smart filter to take away the original background and put him on a new one. I used the paint bucket to fill the background and the colored boxes, I also used the rectangle tool to make the boxes. I used two filters, one on my partner and another on the boxes. On the boxes I adjusted the filter to make the shapes different sizes so it looked a little different on every box. Finally I used the brush tool to outline my partner to make it look like he was "popping" off of the page.

My personality type

After taking the Meyers-Briggs test it said my personality type was ENTJ. I am 9% extravert, 16% intuitive,1% thinking, and 16% judging. The test also said I take control of the situation and if there is a problem I try and fix it. I try to find new solutions instead of using other solutions I've used in the past or things other people have done. I like to plan out everything I do and set goals for myself while helping others set theirs, I also tend to share my knowledge. I went to another site and it said I like to spend my time talking to others. It also said I think through all of my decisions before I make them. I excel at logical reasoning and am quick-witted. People who have my type of personality are usually refered to as the commander because of our drive to take charge. We also went to a website where it told us celebrities who have the same personality type as us. A few people who are ENTJ are Napoleon because he was a general and emporer of France, Bill gates b...

Maddy Samuelson Sidewalk chalk

On the first day we got our teams and started thinking of ideas that we could draw that would symbolize each one of us. But the symbols had to sort of have the same theme throughout the drawing. So we each came up with four ideas that we could use. Some were similar and some not at all. For my symbols I chose a red rose which means promise, a sun which I think means happy, a tree for nature, hearts for love, and an American flag for USA. To be similar we all tried to do nature related things but like I said before some were a little off topic. On day two our groups started sketching the things we wanted to draw on paper. Some things that people chose they didn't like anymore so they changes some symbols. What I did is I had a few symbols from the day before and I added some so that I could fill all of my space up. I We also had to decide how we were going to draw all of our symbols on the ground. We wanted to be able to tell that we all had different ideas so we divided our sq...

ball animations

The project  We did three animations with a bouncing ball. For all of the animations we used photoshop. For the first animation we made grass using a grass tool and made different variations of the grass to make it look realistic. Next we used the circle tool to make a ball. Then we created a time line, which is how you make the ball move. You have to make multiple slides, on each slide you move the ball farther and farther. In the first one the ball was going up in down so I made the ball go from the top of the screen to the bottom. Then to make it bounce up I had to add more slides and fix the transparency. For the second one we had to make the ball bounce in an arc two times. I did the same thing as before with the grass, and with the slides except instead of going down and up the ball went in an arc. For the third one we could do whatever we want so like the second one I had my ball bounce twice then I had it go in a loop for the last part, I did that by adding more slides. ...
