photo editing in photoshop

                                  Photo editing in photoshop

what I learned

I learned a lot while doing this project. It was our first project that we had to do this school year, I thought it was going to be really hard because  I hadn’t done anything with Photoshop since the last day of school.  Luckily the project was easier than expected because we followed step-by-step off of videos.  I liked this project a lot because we got to do more photo editing while last year we did more of creating logos.  I feel that I learned so much from just doing this first project and I can’t wait to see what I will learn throughout the school year.

Tools

Like I said before we are doing more photo editing this year. With that comes a lot of new tools that we did not use before. It was really fun to see all of the tools in photoshop, I didn’t even know you could do such things to a picture. We used tools like the lasso tool, refine selection brush, and the spot healing brush. Those tools did things like duplicate the area and allow you to move it some place else. I can’t wait to learn more about photoshop tools.

incorporating skills

I know that I will be incorporating a lot of things I learned from these videos in future projects. In the videos we did the basics with all of the tools so that in later projects we will be able to do so much more. While using skills from this project I will also be using  skills that I learned last year in graphic design. Even though so far the two years are different as far as projects go I feel like eventually there will be projects where the two areas of graphic design combine.

On the first day we got our teams and started thinking of ideas that we could draw that would symbolize each one of us. But the symbols had to sort of have the same theme throughout the drawing. So we each came up with four ideas that we could use. Some were similar and some not at all. For my symbols I chose a red rose which means promise, a sun which I think means happy, a tree for nature, hearts for love, and an American flag for USA. To be similar we all tried to do nature related things but like I said before some were a little off topic. On day two our groups started sketching the things we wanted to draw on paper. Some things that people chose they didn't like anymore so they changes some symbols. What I did is I had a few symbols from the day before and I added some so that I could fill all of my space up. I We also had to decide how we were going to draw all of our symbols on the ground. We wanted to be able to tell that we all had different ideas so we divided our sq...

Making your own website

The Project This past week in e-Comm we had to make our own website. We used the program dreamweaver while doing this project. To get through the project we watched videos on google classroom that mr. Olsen had made. For our website we had a home page, a project page, and we had to include a side bar with links to the school, e-Comm, and our blog page. For the home page we made an elevator pitch , which is basically just talking about our best qualities. For our project t page we had to put some of our projects we have done in e-Comm so far. I chose two projects from graphic design and another two from animation. We also had to include the blog posts that went along with these four projects.  What I learned I learned a lot while doing this project. We learned how to use a new program dreamweaver, all of the different tools and their functions. There were a lot of pieaces that went along with dreamweaver, compared to photoshop and other programs we have used in the past...

House project

The project: These past few weeks in ecomm we have been making a house using sketch-up. We went on findmyhouseplans.com and found a house that we liked. Then we went into to sketch-up and tried to make a house that looked just like the plans we found on the website. Before we started on the house we practiced by making chairs, so it was a little easier going into the project. What I learned: We learned how to do a lot of things during this project. We learned how to use sketch up, we have used it a little before but this time we really went into detail. The biggest thing is that we learned how to use every tool and what each tool did. We learned that some tools are similar but can also do totally different things. Then we learned shortcuts and tricks on how to make parts of the house faster and make them look better too. How It went: The project went pretty well. It was really hard at first because there are so many different tools that you can use. It was also kind of overw...
