The Project

This project was meant for us to learn about color and how to use adobe illustrator. On the first day we learned about different color schemes. We also learned about different shades, tints, and hues of colors. Then we were taught how to use adobe illustrator, then we learned how to use tools and shortcuts.

What we learned

We learned a lot when we started this project. First we learned about all different kinds of color schemes that I didn't even know existed. Like complementary, primary, secondary, triad, analogous and split complementary. We learned how to use adobe illustrator. There is a tool bar on the side that we had to use. There were lots of different tools that did really cool things to our project. We also learned how to do the basics like how to create a new file and save the file.

How was the project

The project was really fun to do. At first when I was using illustrator it was hard because you had to change certain things on the tool bar. But as I added more shapes and colors it got easier and took me less time to do. If I were to do this project again I think it could be way better because now that I know the basic tools I could maybe use even more tools to make it look more interesting/different. I'm really glad we got to do this project because I learned so much and will be able to use all of this information on projects I'll do in the future!

After taking the Meyers-Briggs test it said my personality type was ENTJ. I am 9% extravert, 16% intuitive,1% thinking, and 16% judging. The test also said I take control of the situation and if there is a problem I try and fix it. I try to find new solutions instead of using other solutions I've used in the past or things other people have done. I like to plan out everything I do and set goals for myself while helping others set theirs, I also tend to share my knowledge. I went to another site and it said I like to spend my time talking to others. It also said I think through all of my decisions before I make them. I excel at logical reasoning and am quick-witted. People who have my type of personality are usually refered to as the commander because of our drive to take charge. On the first day we got our teams and started thinking of ideas that we could draw that would symbolize each one of us. But the symbols had to sort of have the same theme throughout the drawing. So we each came up with four ideas that we could use. Some were similar and some not at all. For my symbols I chose a red rose which means promise, a sun which I think means happy, a tree for nature, hearts for love, and an American flag for USA. To be similar we all tried to do nature related things but like I said before some were a little off topic. On day two our groups started sketching the things we wanted to draw on paper. vector illustrated portrait pre-production When we were assigned this project we were asked to take a picture of ourselves, siblings, or a pet and turn it into a vector portrait. I chose to use a picture of my dog because in that certain picture he had just came back from getting a hair cut and they put a cute bow tie on him. The sun was also shining through the window which made his fur have a variety of colors.We had a choice between an organic vector project and a low poly geometric portraits. I chose to do the low poly geometric portrait, which is when you make tiny triangles on the picture and then fill them will color. I thought that this kind of portrait would look better on an animal than the organic portrait would. production My time spent creating in illustrator was very enjoyable.
